I decided to do a Spring/Birthday Celebration/Just because I like it Facebook giveaway.

My brand new labels :: as minhas novíssimas etiquetas

A great "present" I got today were my brand new labels. I found an amazing Etsy artist that combined all I was looking for: being european to spare me the hassles of having to deal with bureaucratic delays; had to be creative and help me sort what I wanted and what would work the best; be nice enough to deal with all my inquiries and crazy ideas; and have first class products that would really add something new and beautiful to my work.

Encontrei uma artista incrível no Etsy que combina tudo o que eu procurava: ser europeia para me poupar aos atrasos e burocracias; ser criativa e ajudar-me a perceber o que quero e o que funciona melhor; ser simpática o suficiente para me aturar a mim e a todas as minhas questões e ideias mirabolantes; e ter produtos de alta qualidade que adicionam qualquer coisas de nova e bela ao meu trabalho.

My Birthday :: O meu dia de Aniversário

Today was a great day! Not at all what I had predicted, as usual. but fun and relaxing and just great! I'm ready for a new year :)
I also wanted to share my beautiful birthday cake with you, made by a very talented friend! It features what I love and treasure most in my life. A Much Love Monday cake I would say hehehe. It features my 3 cats and my sewing :)

I'm about one hour away from being too late for Much Love Monday, but there is still time!!

And this is actually an important Much Love Monday, the last Much Love Monday as a 30-year-old girl. By Wednesday I'll be 31 and it's been a pretty great year, an important year. And I love that.

I've spent the first few decades of my life wanting to grow up, to get to wherever I wanted to get quickly and then I got there and, firstly, it was nothing like I imagined it to be and secondly, turns now nothing I thought I wanted made me happy.
So I guess, in that aspect, I was a really late bloomer and it took me 30 years to finally take the time to figure out, not only who I am but also what I want and the results have been amazing. So I'm loving that as well!!

Deep stuff today! Heheheh.

My vinyl has arrived... yayy!! ::: O meu vinil chegou... yayyy!

As you know, since receiving my Silhouette Cameo I've been dabbling in vinyl, but since what I purchased with the machine were A4 sheets, 3 each color, I quickly ran out of presentable colors.
So I decided to shop around for vinyl and found a great supplier that sells it in 5m rolls and delivers right to your doorstep :)
I bought 4 rolls: white, black, silver and gold. All in mate which is great, since the previous ones were glossy and I hated it! Also, I've never tried silver and gold but I think they have a lot of potential.

Como sabem, desde que recebi a minha Silhouette Cameo tenho andado em experiências com vinil, mas comocomprei um pacote de folhas A4, 3 de cada cor, rapidamente esgotei as cores minimamente decentes.
Por isso, decidi procurar vinil e encontrei um fornecedor óptimo que o vende em rolos de 5 m e entrega à porta. :)
Comprei 4 rolos: branco, preto, prateado e dourado. Tudo em mate, o que é óptimo, já que os anteriores eram brilhantes e detesto! Nunca experimentei prateado e dourado mas acho que têm imenso potencial.

As it happens, I had one project waiting for the black vinyl. Last week I did a giveaway on my Facebook page where people had to leave a phrase or a quote and the one with the most likes would win it in vinyl. A cute but hugeeeee quote won, regarding animal rights. I love it, so it was truly a pleasure.

Curiosamente, tinha um projecto à espera do vinil preto. Na semana passada fiz um passatempo na minha página do Facebook, em que as pessoas tinham que deixar uma frase ou citação e a que tivesse mais likes recebia-a em vinil. Uma frase gira mas enorme ganhou, com o tema dos direitos dos animais, o que eu adoro, foi realmente um prazer fazê-la.

So, first step, load the mat with the vinyl and press cut. This is what the machine delivers:

Portanto, primeiro passo, carregar o tapete com o vinil e carregar Cortar. Isto é o que a máquina me devolve:

 After removing the greater vinyl excess, this is what I'm left with:

Depois de remover a maioria do excesso de vinil, isto é o que fica:

 This is the tricky part for me, removing the small bits of vinyl stuck on the letters, it takes me sooo long! If you have a better way do to that doesn't imply one bit at a time by hand, I beg you, please let me know!!

Esta é a parte mais difícil para mim, retirar os pedaços pequenos presos às letras, demora imenso! Se souberem de uma forma melhor de fazer isto sem ter que ser um de cada vez à mão, por favor digam-me!!

After that, all I need to do is to add the transfer tape, so that all there is left to do is to remove the white paper behind the letter, place the letters on the surface one wishes to decorate, press and rub to make sure the letters are well stuck and gently remove the transfer tape. And voilá!


Depois disso, tudo o que preciso de fazer é colar o papel de transferência, para que tudo fique pronto. Depois basta remover o papel branco por tras das letras, colocar as letras no sítio que se deseja decorar, pressionar e esfregar bem para que as letras fiqueim bem agarradas e retirar com cuidado o papel de transferência. E voilá!

Hello!

Time for a brand new Much Love Monday.
Today is being a bit of an odd day. For starters I got up really early, which is really unusual for me. I thought I had to take my car to be repaired as yesterday it decided that the stop lights should be on all the time and it's not the first time it's happened either. I don't know what is it with me and cars, they always seem to have electrical problems. Anyway, apparently the car got all better on its own!

Also, today is Father's Day in Portugal, so it is a special day! A very special Must Love Monday!

I'm loving a lot of things today. The anticipation of vacations, as the 2nd term is ending next Friday and I'll be getting two whole weeks off!
I'm loving that I've ended all my big projects and that allows me to create again. When I am in a middle of a big project I may think of what I'll do next, but my mind is filled with that project. But once it ends, my mind is my own again and the sky is the limit!
I haven't had that kind of mind freedom in a while and it feels great! In time for Spring too! :D
