Sardines anyone? :)

Sardines are a big part of Portugal folklore and have been represented in many ways and all sorts of materials. I was recently asked to make a key chain featuring a sardine and thought of trying out the ticker tape technique for the scales of the fish.

It was kind of complicated as this particular sardine is very very small, a baby sardine if you will, but my sister (the person who asked for it) is adamant on the size. I couldn't believe how tricky it was to work with such small pieces of fabric.
This is the final version. A colorful, cheerful baby sardine :)

Starting off the Year

Hello.

I know we are in February, so the Year has long started. But I've been without a camera for some time now and only now can I show you my finished projects.
It's hard to be a blogger without a proper camera. Sure you can use the phone camera, but it never does the items justice and I hate that!.

So here they are, a shopping bag holder on its way to Australia, quilts and a new item I've started to make that's been having some great feedback.
Basically it's a patchwork blanket with a synthetic lambswool back.
I like how much lighter it is when comparing to a quilt, perfect to carry with you for your baby or for a pet.

{Blogtoberfest Day 5} And so it begins...

Christmas wreath finished! It is 45cms (about 18 inches) tall. I used japanese wool, felt, buttons and pearls :)

I think it's both rustic and stylish, simple but elegant. Just how I like it :)

My brand new kind of quilt. cute, cute, cute!!

Hello.
I've shown you the first time I've attempted to do this kind of appliquéd, animal quilt.
Meanwhile I've had a chance to do two more and here they are: elephants and kittens, oh my! :)

Next stop, appliquéd owls :D
