Starting off the Year

Hello.

I know we are in February, so the Year has long started. But I've been without a camera for some time now and only now can I show you my finished projects.
It's hard to be a blogger without a proper camera. Sure you can use the phone camera, but it never does the items justice and I hate that!.

So here they are, a shopping bag holder on its way to Australia, quilts and a new item I've started to make that's been having some great feedback.
Basically it's a patchwork blanket with a synthetic lambswool back.
I like how much lighter it is when comparing to a quilt, perfect to carry with you for your baby or for a pet.

Just so you know...

Silhouette cameo does not cut through eva foam. Maybe for the thinest kind but I'm working with a 2mm thick sheet and there is no way... :-(

Hello :)

I've been thinking of the perfect post to start my 2013 with, but I've come up with nothing. So, when I found this tutorial, that I just had to share, I decided to just go with it.

It's in portuguese, but it's pretty self explanatory. She's basically teaching how to assemble those zippers that sell by the yard.

It is so brilliant! totally worth the sacrifice of a fork. It works wonderfully, I guarantee.
So, if this is something you struggle with, here's my tip to you.

Please allow me to introduce to you, my newest family member. Dobby. He gets along just fine with this feline bosses and is just the cutest. He likes chicken and to sit on someone. He is also a bit of a chicken himself, afraid of everything and everyone. We'll just have to work on that next year :)

Hello.

It has been kind of chaotic over here. The to-do list is ever growing and Christmas is approaching at an alarming rate!
It is so cold over here, we are not used to these type of temperatures at all. Mind you, I'm referring to 6º, which I know is not very low when comparing to other places in the World or even in northern Portugal, but still, I am never really prepared.

Nor am I prepared to cut fabric and sew for hours with freezing hands! :)
